Safety and Empowerment for Experiential Learning: Appropriate Behavior and Professional Boundaries

This interactive training module was designed for college-age students engaged in experiential learning, such as internships and community-based learning, and equips them with knowledge of their workplace rights and protections. Developed in 2022-2023 with support from the Universities of Wisconsin, this training module was first implemented in Fall 2023. Since Spring 2025, the module is currently in 37 academic courses at UW-Parkside and at four other UW campuses, including UW-Madison. As of Summer 2025, more than 1,000 UW students have completed the training.

The training serves as an important risk management resource to ensure participants understand workplace expectations and protections. The program’s accessibility features support an effective training experience for a wide range of learners, including those with disabilities.
Micro-Learning: Introduction to Communication

This brief module was developed in Rise 360. The content focuses on the definition, behaviors, and applications of communication, particularly in the context of a professional environment. The micro-learning features interactions that keep the learner engaged, such as flip cards and a choice-based scenario. Additional elements were designed using Canva.

The content focuses on the definitions and related behaviors of the NACE Career Readiness Competencies, particularly in the context of a professional environment. The micro-learning features interactions that keep the learner engaged, such as flip cards, informational tabs, a knowledge check, and audio narration. Additional elements were designed using Canva.
Reusable Learning Object (RLO): Introduction to the NACE Competencies

"Introduction to the NACE Career Readiness Competencies" is an RLO developed with the authoring tool, Lectora. The purpose of this RLO is to introduce students to the NACE Career Readiness Competencies, a foundational aspect of the larger course - UWP 294: Work-Based Learning. The learning objectives of this RLO are:

Learners meaningfully engage with the content through interactive activities, such as flip cards, knowledge checks, and a choice-based scenario. Narration and closed captioning provides an accessible and dynamic learning experience for the users.
SCORM & Learning Management Systems​

This computer-based training was developed in iSpring to provide learners with an overview of SCORM and Learning Management Systems. This simple yet effective CBT was intentionally designed to consist of fewer than 10 pages, requiring me to design pages that prioritize the most essential content and avoid overwhelming learners.
